Pasta Parties

Pasta Parties are held the Friday night before each Regatta. All rowers are expected to attend as this is a great way to load up on carbs for the race and to bond with their fellow rowers.

Each year we ask for parent volunteers to Host a party or to Chaperone.

If you are Hosting – Rowers are assigned all the needed food/beverages. The Host is only responsible for providing the location, paper plates, utensils, cups, napkins etc.

If you are Chaperoning – Chaperones should arrive about 15 min early to help the Hosts set-up and assist the Hosts as needed during the pasta party and any final clean-up.

If you are a Rower – Rowers will promptly arrive at 7 and leave at 9pm. They are responsible for bringing the assigned dish/drink, cleanup and taking their containers with them. We ask rowers to bring a serving utensil along with their dish.

An email will be sent out to the Forest Park Crew Google Group the weekend before the party with the date, time, address, host, contact number and what the rowers are to bring.

We rotate what the rowers are to bring. The categories are:

–       Family Size Pasta

–       Garlic Bread or Beverage (no soda)

–       Salad, Fruit, or Vegetable

Food should be cooked, and bread should be sliced.

If assigned to bring pasta – any type of pasta and any type of sauce works (spaghetti, fettuccine macaroni, lasagna). It’s your choice whether or not your serving dish is disposable. Typically, a rower would bring a 9 x 12 pan of pasta. If assigned to bring salad, fruit or vegetable – just a medium sized bowl is fine. Some rowers will bring more, some less. In the end, it all works out since the rowers are all bringing items to share.
